The Business of Sports Comes to the Big Easy

NCAA Access ProgramThe NCAA Men’s Final Four Local Organizing Committee and the New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee announced today the launch of the NCAA Access Program, and the NFL Emerging Business Program, which will run from now until New Orleans hosts the Men’s Final Four in 2012 and the Super Bowl in 2013.

The mission of both programs is designed to provide educational and business opportunities for the minority and women-owned business (MWB) in the Greater New Orleans area.  The NCAA Access Program and NFL Emerging Business Program will allow MWB’s to maximize Super Bowl and Final Four business opportunities while bringing national and international recognition to the City of New Orleans and its continued progress and development.  Program objectives include educating the New Orleans business community of the opportunities available to Minority and Women-Owned Businesses, encouraging and developing the involvement of the New Orleans Community and promoting the use of Minority and Women-Owned Businesses to the NFL, NCAA and their partners.

NFL Emerging BusinessNew Orleans is the first host city that will benefit from two major sporting event based MWB programs hosted within the same year.  Both of these local business opportunities will contribute to be part of the combined $500M estimated economic impact for the City of New Orleans over the next two years.

Volunteering with the GNOSF

Thank you to all of our volunteers for their hard work at the 2011 AAU Junior Olympic Games! We really appreciate that over 1,000 volunteers came out to help make these young athletes' dreams come true, and hope each of you understand the impact you've had on their time in New Orleans. We could not host any of these great events without our wonderful volunteers.
